Background

Ansted University ‘strives to earn international prominence as a university of special distinction through its integration of teaching, research and service to society.’ It is ‘deeply committed to the creative understanding of nature and human society as an essential element of the learning process.’ From the writers perspective, one of the main aspects of human society is that of citizenship of our global community and that citizenship implies a sense of social responsibility and a putting back into the community at least as much as is taken out.

Social responsibility has implications not just for us as individuals but also as members of communities and society at large. The concept also needs however to apply to organisations such as corporations and governments. Sadly this is often more apparent by its absence than by anything else. Much of the writers writing have been concerned with the consequences of this absence and with fostering a debate about how this might be changed. Education is one way to bring about change and this is central to the purpose of the university, and the principal reason for the writers actively involvement. Another potential way to bring about change however is through an engagement in scholarly debate, involving as many people as possible from as many different backgrounds as possible. This proposal to introduce an academic journal and organize annual CSR International conference are designed to foster this debate and to raise an awareness among our students of both the ongoing debate and the need for this debate.

Ansted University is known for its emphasis on research, independent thinking, rigorous analysis and leadership development. It is home to Nobel laureates, leading Scientists, Scholars, researchers, literature experts, business experts, market theorists and economists. Ansted professors teach the ideas and strategies that will shape the business and technology environment tomorrow.

At Ansted University, we believe that today’s world is one of constant change, where human needs to do more than simply excel in their field of expertise. To be truly successful and add value, an individual has to be a broad-based, strategic, externally focused thinker as well as a leader with cross-functional awareness and impact. Our professors are not only world-class researchers and among the best teachers, but they are also active consultants and many of them hold patents and have also developed several instruments and technology equipment as well as more than a hundred research publications. They offer a blend of academic excellence, rigorous scholarship, real-world relevance, and practical application that provides participants with unparalleled opportunities to expand their horizons. They will present topics in variety of ways, including lectures, case studies and group discussions.

The university has been organising various and many unique interactive seminars in the past years both in Malaysia and abroad since 1999. The main purpose is to design to help delegates and keen learners to acquire knowledge in Science & Technology, Engineering & Environmental, Medicine and Healthcare, Historical & Linguistics, Liberal Arts & Cultural and Psychology & Philosophy. In that case it will help participants stand above the other and become a more effective and persuasive leader in their field. Our experts provide participants with the tools necessary to truly understand the current environment and analyse how they can position themselves and their organisation to effectively meet new challenges.

The university and the organiser always have the hope that people will take a close look at our announcement and either register themselves or forward the announcement e-brochures, provide our conference web site address to their network contacts, email announcement messages to their network peoples who may be interested in further developing their knowledge and skills together with Ansted University experts.
