To get to central London from the airports:
You can either catch the Heathrow Express train (quicker but more expensive) or the Piccadilly Underground train. Either will take you into the centre of London where you might need to change in order to get to your hotel. The Piccadilly line however goes directly to the university and to the Kings Cross Premier Travel Inn.
The Gatwick Express train runs directly into the centre of London where you will need to change in order to get to your hotel or to the university.
The Stansted Express train runs directly into the centre of London where you will need to change in order to get to your hotel or to the university.
There are frequent trains running into the centre of London. These arrive at Kings Cross station.
The easiest way to get around in central London is by means of the underground system. Check the map at any underground station to find the route to where you want to go (or ask). Every station has a map of the area nearby located near the entrance. If you are making multiple journeys then it is best to get a travel card - ask at a station for details. All underground lines run a frequent service all day until after midnight. After this there are buses which run all night on the main routes.
